EuroCOW
The EuroCOW, the European Calibration and Orientation Workshop, is a biennial event organized by the Institute of Geomatics on behalf of the EuroSDR (European Spatial Data Research) and the ISPRS (International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing).
This biannual meeting intends to bring together the world experts, both from public and private sectors, to present and discuss the recent findings and developments on Sensor Calibration and Orientation. EuroCOW 2012 will be a highly specialized small forum to facilitate the circulation of useful and new information.
The organisers, aware of today's high competitiveness in the area, are trying to set the conditions for a practical, informative and informal three-day meeting in a relaxed atmosphere, and expect to attract real experts with hands-on experience in the field.
The EuroCOW 2012 will be held from February 8th to February 10th, 2012 at the Institute of Geomatics, located in the Mediterranean Technology Park (PMT), Castelldefels (20 Km South from downtown Barcelona).

For this edition, there is a "double track" papers submission procedure: authors have the option to have their paper revised to be published in a special edition of the journal PFG "Photogrammetrie, Fernerkundung, Geoinformation" (paper review track) or to have their paper included in the Workshop's proceedings (abstract review track).
Paper review track
Authors interested in having their paper published in the PFG need to prepare a short abstract. Once it is accepted, the author will be invited to submit a full paper to PFG and to follow the PFG procedures. If a paper does not get through this process successfully, it becomes an "abstract review track" paper.
Abstract review track
Authors interested in publishing only in the Workshop's proceedings need to prepare an abstract, and once it is accepted, they will be asked to submit the full paper.
All authors must present their papers at the EuroCOW. In case of failure doing so, the paper will not be published neither in the journal nor in the proceedings.

The meeting will be held at the Institute of Geomatics, located in the Mediterranean Technology Park (PMT), Castelldefels, 20 Km South from downtown Barcelona, 7 Km South from Barcelona International Airport (click here to learn about details on how to arrive).
Castelldefels is a coastal town of 50,000 inhabitants, situated 20 minutes from Barcelona and 10 minutes from the Airport, using: the main road (C-245), the dual carriageway (C-31), the motorway (C-32), and bus and trainlines.
For its pleasant environment and beaches, Castelldefels is of high touristic value and at the same time is one of the technology poles in the surroundings of Barcelona. Castelldefels has an average of 300 sunny days per year.

Water temperature: minimum in February: 12.7º, maximum in July: 25.7º, Yearly average: 18.6º
