CALL FOR PAPERS
The American Institute of Architects,  Middle East Chapter is issuing a Call for Papers to be presented during the second "Architecture and Design Days Jeddah"  Conference which will take place on October 10 & 11, 2012 at the Park Hyatt Jeddah.
The Conference is organized by AIA Middle East in collaboration with Sesam Business Consultants and The Umran Society. This is part of a series of educational events on Architecture in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.

The AIA conference committee is now accepting abstracts for lectures as part of the above symposium. The conference offers speaker opportunities for a minimum of 50 min. conference presentations (including 10 Q&A) on Day 1, as well as a minimum of 60 min. lectures in the form of workshops on Conference day 2.

ABOUT THE EVENT
The AIA Middle East Chapter is issuing a Call for Papers to be presented during our event "Architectural Design Days Jeddah", which will take place on October 10 & 11, 2012 at the Hyatt Park hotel, Jeddah. The conference is organized by the AIA Middle East in collaboration with Sesam Business Consultants and part of a series of educational events on Architecture in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East. The AIA conference committee is now accepting abstracts for lectures as part of the above symposium.
The conference offers speaker opportunities for a minimum of 30 min conference presentations (incl. 5 min Questions & Answers) on Day 1, as well as a minimum of 60 min lectures in the form of workshops on Conference Day 2.
The event will be designed to meet the AIA's mandatory Continuing Education System (CES) for which it offers accreditation in Learning Units (LUs) to AIA registered architects. This Continuing Educational program is well respected within the architectural community, and
expected to benefit both AIA members and non-members alike.
DETAILS- ADMINISTRATIVE
Application Date : Deadline for the abstract submission is August 30, 2012
Proposal Form: Please submit an abstract (maximum one page) in English and a related CV
and photo.
Review Process: Abstracts will be reviewed by the AIA Conference Committee and answered
within two weeks of receipt.
Presentation Submission: Draft presentation to be submitted until September 15, 2012

AIA EXPECTS THAT PRESENTATIONS WILL ASSIST PARTICIPANTS IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS.

a. Overall Presentation Goal
A Participant will be able to do or understand after the Seminar/Workshop
For example:
At the end of the Seminar/Workshop, the Participant should be able to identify the common Project Management programs and approaches to assist them in determining the best approach for them and/or their office.
b. Specific "Learning Objectives" which support the Presentation Goal
"A learning objective is an explicit statement that clearly expresses what the student will learn or be able to do after taking the course".
Minimum of 4 required
For example:
1- Understand the PMI program pros and cons
2- Understand the xyz program pros and cons
3- Learn the common pros and cons associated with Microsoft Project vs xyz
4- Identify local or online sources of training in systems and software programs
5- Hear "on the ground" feedback from fellow participants about the available systems and program
