Berlin Urbanism Bubbles

Berlin Urbanism Bubbles

The starting point of this project came from the ongoing conflict over one of the most attractive pieces of fallow land in Berlin: the Spree riversides located between Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg.  Drawing on the spatial partitioning strategy of a Voroni diagram, elements from differing social demands are brought together into a heterogeneous whole.  The result is a distinctive 40,000 square meter bubble-like structure made from prefabricated modules.  The proposal is the thesis project for young German architect Patrick Bedarf.
